Our popularitinerary Suggestions

All our itinerary holidays are fully customisable

San José, Costa Rica - Embark
1Day

San José, Costa Rica - Embark

Arrive independently to the Costa Rican capital of San José where your transfer from the airport will take you to the port to board the Safari Voyager. Settle into your comfortable cabin and familiarise yourself with the vessel before joining your new shipmates for your first dinner onboard as we set sail for adventure.

Curu National Wildlife Refuge
2Day

Curu National Wildlife Refuge

Our first stop brings us to the Curu National Wildlife Refuge on the southeastern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula, where an abundance of wildlife awaits. As we trek around the area, across swinging bridges and through tangled mangroves, we will be on the lookout for everything from hungry crocodiles, prime howler monkeys and spider monkeys, to frog-eating snakes, deer and multiple exotic birds. We may also have the chance to spot the immense blue morpho butterfly that is mostly native to South America. If that wasn’t enough adventure, you may also wish to enjoy your first kayaking, paddleboarding or snorkelling excursion today in the nearby turquoise waters of Isla Tortuga.

Osa Conservation Area
3Day

Osa Conservation Area

The adventure playground of the isolated and wild Osa Conservation Area is ours to explore today. Home to Corcovado, the country’s largest national park, there are fantastic options for exploration here. The area is known for its diverse plant and animal species - a huge 2.5% of the entire planet’s biodiversity is found here - including all four of Costa Rica’s monkeys, tree frogs, caimans, anteaters, scarlet macaws, coatis, and 16 different species of hummingbird. A strenuous but incredibly rewarding hike through the jungle will hopefully bring us up-close to many of these unique creatures.

Golfo Dulce
4Day

Golfo Dulce

Today will be a special day for the birding enthusiasts amongst us as we head to the birder’s paradise of the Golfo Dulce. This tropical preserve is simply bursting with vibrant colours, from the beautifully unique flora to the brightly coloured toucans and fluttering butterflies, and the mischievous monkeys swinging through the trees. A true treat for the senses, a guided bush walk here will bring a kaleidoscope of sights and sounds. Later, you may also wish to enjoy a memorable kayak or skiff ride (small boat) through the mangroves.

Granita de Oro / Coiba National Park
5Day

Granita de Oro / Coiba National Park

Today will be spent sailing through the picturesque islands of Coiba National Park stopping at some special spots along the way. The first stop is likely to be the picture-postcard setting of the Granito de Oro islet which offers a little bit of something for everyone. Learn about the islet’s geology and volcanic outcroppings, trek through the inland mini jungle, or spend the morning lazing on the truly idyllic white sandy beach. One of the biggest draws to this area is the outstanding diving and snorkelling opportunities. Named one of the world’s top 10 diving sites, you can spend some time scouring the waters for the unique aquatic wildlife, or head to the park’s main island for a walk in search of crested eagles, howler monkeys and four different turtle species.

In the afternoon or early evening we will host a truly memorable beach party!

Expedition Day
6Day

Expedition Day

As we enjoy another day in paradise, today will feature a relaxed itinerary, with your captain deciding on some excellent spots for soaking up the views, relaxing on board or on the beach, or heading out into the kayaks or onto the paddleboards.

Panama Canal
7Day

Panama Canal

Leaving Costa Rica in our wake, we now reach the Gulf of Panamá which is home to numerous unique islands and islets which your captain knows well, and which hold many delights. Your captain will choose some fantastic places to stop and enjoy your final adventures on land and at sea and to search for the superb birdlife that can be found here.

Later that day we will make our way to the entrance of the 48-mile Panamá Canal to enjoy our evening transit of this famous waterway. As you enjoy your celebratory final dinner on board, followed by a slideshow presentation to commemorate your trip, you can watch as the canal lights up around you and learn all about this fascinating and hugely important feat of engineering.

Panama City - Disembark
8Day

Panama City - Disembark

Arrival in Colón at the end of the Panama Canal signals the end of our voyage. After breakfast you will disembark and join your transfer to the Agua Clara Visitor Center. Your transfer will then continue to the vibrant Panana City and to the airport for your onward or homeward flights. If you wish to extend your stay, please enquire for options.
