Derek Solomon on game drives, delivering his"Soundscape Safari" concept, Lewis Mangaba delving into the idea of learning from nature, rather than just about nature, through the ethos of bio-mimicry.

Harare to Mana Pools National Park

Having arrived independently to Harare airport join your included flight to Kanga Camp in Mana Pools National Park. The life-giving power of the Zambezi River makes Mana Pools National Park one of Zimbabwe’s most lush and flourishing regions, designated as the country’s second World Heritage Site and known as one of the continent’s premier game-viewing regions. Kanga Camp is the only inland camp in Mana Pools, away from the waters of the Zambezi River, but situated on edges of the Kanga Pan, the only water source for miles around, and home to the famous Armchair Safari. Upon arrival at Kanga Camp you can enjoy an afternoon game drive and sundowner to orientate yourself with this beautiful National Park.

In the evening there will be an introductory talk from specialist guest guide Rob Janisch, touching on the concept of the “Genius of Nature” and looking at it through the lens of Biomimicry, before a delicious dinner and a great night’s sleep in your fantastic accommodation tent.

3 nights accommodation at Kanga Camp on an all-inclusive basis with all meals and house beverages (excludes premium imported spirits and champagne).

2 - 3Days

Kanga Camp

These 2 days in Kanga Camp will be filled with unique experiences and activities. On day 2 after a scrumptious breakfast, prepared in the Kanga kitchen, guests will embark on a walking safari led by Rob and other professional Guides. This will be a walking safari with a difference, focusing on elements of smell and touch.
In the afternoon you can enjoy a relaxing Armchair Safari experience or take a Game Drive through the park, dependant on what wildlife is around and what you would prefer.

Day 3 will be a full day of activities, experiencing the magic of Mana Pools National Park and the “Genius of Nature”, through the lens of Biomimicry with Rob Janisch and the resident guides at Kanga Camp. The day will be finished off in a secret location, where a unique bush dinner will be waiting your arrival.

4Day

Kanga Camp to Zambezi Expeditions

After a farewell breakfast, overlooking the Kanga Pan, you will depart on a Game Drive to Zambezi Expeditions on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. Upon arrival at the picturesque location, next to the most significant water source in the region, guests will be welcomed with a fresh lunch and an afternoon of bliss in one of the most sought safari locations in Southern Africa.

In the evening there will be a welcome talk from specialist guest guide Derek Solomon, talking about the concept of the “Soundscape Safari” and highly respected Professional guide Lewis Mangaba with his unwavering passion and genuine enthusiasm for African people, wildlife and conservation.

After a delicious dinner you can settle into your luxury tent to enjoy a great night’s sleep surrounded by the sounds of nature. Zambezi Expeditions offers one of the best ways to experience Mana Pools on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. The 12-bed luxury mobile camp is set up prior to your arrival. Comprising of 6 twin bedded mini-meru style tents with en-suite bathroom facilities including flush toilets and al fresco bucket showers, the camp gives luxury camping a new definition by virtue of its simple yet elegant and comfortable furnishings.

5 - 7Days

Zambezi Expeditions Camp

Enjoy 2 full days of activities and experiences in Mana Pools National Park from the vantage point of being located at Zambezi Expeditions along the river, including game drive activities with high tech sound equipment, exploring the meaning and purpose of all the sound, with Derek Solomon and walking safaris with Lewis Mangaba, learning about the roots of reasons behind different local traditions and customs.

There will be ample time for relaxing surrounded by the tranquil sights and sounds of nature, and should you wish for more adventure there are many opportunities for optional river-based activities such as canoeing.

On day 7 your fantastic sensory safari will sadly come to an end and it will be time to fly back to Harare airport for your homeward or onward travel. Should you wish to extend your stay there are numerous options available including continuing on to Hwange National Park or visiting the mighty Victoria Falls.

Kanga Bush Camp, Mana Pools

Set in the most remote part of the World Heritage site in Mana Pools National Park, Kanga Bush Camp takes its name from Kanga Pan near to Chitake Springs. This remote area has never been developed and Kanga Bush Camp offers you a pure and unspoilt African experience and is a great base from which to explore the diversity of habitats of Mana Pools: the river systems of the Ruckomechi River, mixed woodlands from mopane woodland to Jesse bushes and riverine forests.

Zambezi Expeditions Camp

Zambezi Expeditions offers one of the best ways to experience Mana Pools on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. The 12-bed luxury mobile camp comprises of 6 twin bedded mini-meru style tents with en-suite bathroom facilities including flush toilets and al fresco bucket showers, the camp gives luxury camping a new definition by virtue of its simple yet elegant and comfortable furnishings. A 6-bedded camp consisting of three tents can be set up for a single group on special request.
