The Shetland Islands are a mix of Scotland and Scandinavia, with spectacular coastlines, varied and abundant bird life and a number of archaeological sites that date back thousands of years. We plan to land at Lerwick and find time to explore.

Enjoy a city tour, including a visit to the Edvard Greig Museum, and visit the historic seaport district. Take a walk to the picturesque fish market.

Travel on the Flam railway through valleys and mountain passes to the scenic Flam fjord

Time permitting, stop in Olden for a short bus ride to the Birksdal area and a walk to a glacier.

Sail into one of Norway's most spectacular fjords, Geiranger Fjord, which has rightly been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Go ashore in Trondheim and take a walk to the Sverresborg Folk Museum or, alternatively, a city tour, which includes the museum and the elaborate cathedral.



Torghatten

Torghatten

As you will know by now, the rugged coastline of central Norway features some of the world's most beautiful scenery.  Our Captain will negotiate with local Norwegian pilots to determine our best Zodiac shore landing options. Our goal is to visit Torghatten one of the most bizarre rock formations in Norway and a significant local landmark. Later, we head for the picturesque Vega Island

Svartisen has beautiful walking options to a glacier. We also visit Vikingen to see the globe structure marking this point directly on the Arctic Circle.



Lofoten Islands, Svolvaer & Trollfjord

Lofoten Islands, Svolvaer & Trollfjord

The Lofoten Archipelago is an enchanting area of picturesque villages by the sea backed with jagged peaks. Today we go ashore via coach on the island of Aa, where cod fishing is still a major part of the economy. In the evening be sure to be on deck as we cruise into one of the most famous fjords in Norway, the short yet dramatic Trollfjord, and search the cliffs for Norway's mythical beings: trolls!

Enjoy a day sailing off the coast, with Zodiac excursions looking out for birds and marine wildlife.

North Cape - our most northerly point, where we will take a drive to view the rugged coastal plateau.





Tromso

Tromso

Tromso is the principal town in northern Norway. Disembark in the morning. If time permits, explore this northern haven and be sure to visit the Arctic Cathedral, whose unique architecture is evocative of snow and icebergs.

MS Expedition

The MS Expedition provides an intimate small-ship cruising experience. Completely refurbished in 2009, all cabins have ocean-facing windows or portholes and private en-suite facilities. Common areas include 360 degree observation deck, lounge, dining room, library, bar, gift shop, clinic, computer room, gym, sauna, gift shop and mud room. Passengers also have access to rubber boots. The ship has ice-strengthened hull, forward looking sonar and stabilisers.
